I love the opportunity to be a fill in drummer for other bands and performers. It is a rewarding challenge to learn a bunch of new tunes and perform live. I recently had one such experience performing with Ben Robinson (Guitar/Vocals) and Jeff Isley.
It was a lightning-in-a-bottle kind of show — a three-day sprint from setlist to stage that exploded into a night of locked-in grooves, pro-level chemistry, and pure musical magic. No overthinking, just instinct, sweat, and a shared commitment to make the room move.

A blues show at 158 On Main in Mooresville, NC
I had the opportunity to fill in for Charlotte based 90’s Rock Power Trio called Hardwired. I had three rehearsals with Philip and Bud and we pulled off a great show. Live at Moochies Tavern – Mathews, NC
The Grahams
My best friend growing up was Doug Graham. We were inseparable from 2nd grade – 8th grade. We played in our first bands together. Doug and his wife, Alyssa, became professional touring and recording musicians and toured the world multiple times. They are known as The Grahams. The Grahams came through Charlotte, NC in 2015 playing in Charlotte and a private “house concert” for my neighborhood. I had the great honor of performing with them for these two shows. It was a highlight in my musical career. For this particular show, there was no rehearsal or set list. I learned all their songs in preparation. The only instruction I was given was that they wanted the feel to be as if we were performing on a back porch. I loved every minute of this show!
Skinny Velvet
I had the great honor of sitting in with Jim Bolt and Ben Robinson of Skinny Velvet. I was a huge fan of their music and was thrilled when they invited me to play with them. I ended up playing a couple shows with them over the next few years. It was always last minute without a set list or rehearsal. Live without a Net!
